Method platform
The method platform consists of five cores and is seamlessly connected to the structures established in the data platform. The method platform checks the technical feasibility of external and internal research projects and requests and promotes their quality by integrating the organ-specific expertise of the participating experts. This is essential as there is still very little experience with post-mortem samples among most researchers. In addition, the method platform performs organ-specific diagnostics in complex death cases and continuously reviews diagnostic criteria and methods for validated reporting. It also ensures the best possible quality and harmonization of autopsy specimens and develops recommendations for improving specimen quality and collection. Another task within the method platform is the promotion of higher autopsy numbers by supporting the local autopsy centers and an active capacity building in the professional societies. In an effort to report current developments and changes to relevant stakeholders in the public health system in a timely manner, the data entering NAREG is monitored and surveillance indicators are used.
